Photographers, Volunteers & Artists Volunteers

We need "that special gleam" to capture the children's personality and essence! We are creating images to help a prospective parent see how special each child is.

Photographers will need to send samples of their work:

• Send to easttexasheartgallery@yahoo.com

• 7 photos of all individual children and if the child is part of a sibling group, 7 photos of the sibling group in addittion to the 7 photos of each member of the sibling group.
• Please provide your e-mail address,
• your bio and a
• brief write up of your interactions and impressions of the child.
• Please send a disk with the information listed above within a week to:

Guidelines for Media/Photographers

• Sample questions you may ask the child.

DON’T:

• DO NOT ask a child where they live or what school they go to.
• DO NOT ask a child their last name or any other identifying information.
• DO NOT interview or photograph FOSTER CHILDREN.
• DO NOT leave the building with a child.
• DO NOT ask children to lay on top of each other (this makes them uncomfortable sometimes.)
• DO NOT photograph or video tape the child in a provocative position. Most people don't think about the position of the child but often a laying down position of any kind is not good. The photographs are shared online with the public and are seen by people who might not be of high moral fiber.
• Beware - some children do not like to be physically positioned or touched.
  

DO:

• Media: Please wear your pass or identification identifying you as media.
• Please confirm with Heart Gallery staff about which children are waiting for adoption and which are foster children.
• Do ask questions of Heart Gallery staff when in doubt. We will get you an answer.
